We know a lot of you are dying to try out BlackBerry 6, but until RIM releases it sometime in the “next calendar quarter“, we think this 16 minute and 45 second walkthrough of the OS running on a 9800 slider will tide you over. Unfortunately the narration isn’t in English, but if you can look beyond that hit up the jump and check out the video.
Earlier today we got some nice high quality pictures of the BlackBerry 9800 slider. Now, we get what was got to be the best video walkthrough of BlackBerry 6 to date. Sure, it's in Chinese considering it came from the folks over at BerryTimes but the language of BlackBerry is universal. Sit back and watch a full 16 minutes of BlackBerry 6 in action. Now, if you'll excuse I need to go wipe the drool off my keyboard. Video is after the jump folks, enjoy.
The crazy cats over at Droid Life are back once again with yet another leak of the Motorola MB810 which Droid Life claims will be sold as the Droid Xtreme and not the Droid Shadow. In the past we have seen this phone from various angles, but this is the first time we’ve ever seen its backside. Two things to take away from these pics. First is the camera which is clearly labelled as 8 megapixels with HD video and is flanked by a dual-LED flash. The second thing is UI customization. We’ve already seen the Xtreme powered on, but this picture gives us a much clearer look at the more subtle UI customization brought forth in what some are calling “ninja blur.” Are you liking how the Xtreme is shaping up?
Just yesterday we posted that the Trillian instant messaging application would be arriving in beta form on BlackBerry soon. I guess the folks at Trillian weren't kidding. If you head on over to the mobile download page for Trillian you'll find that version 1.0.0.204 is now available for download. The beta they are offering up is trial limited, so at some point it will indeed expire but they do not indicate when. Having used it for the past day, I suggest downloading and giving it a try. The list of supported devices can be viewed via the Trillian website and yes, the BlackBerry Storm is supported already. As well as the BlackBerry Pearl 3G although the website does not indicate that model. You can also share your thoughts on it here in the comments or in the CrackBerry forums.
With all of the oil spilling into the gulf (thanks, BP!), the announcement that Sprint will be releasing the eco-friendly Samsung Restore on June 6th for $50 on contract couldn’t come at a better time. Made largely out of recycled materials, the Restore contains low levels of hazardous materials and will be 84% recyclable when it comes time to power it up for the last time. Of course what the Restore has in green it lacks in specs with nothing to show for itself but a 2 megapixel camera and QWERTY keypad, but specs knockout specs aren’t what this phone is about.
